BVU proudly presents our Do Something series kick-off event for 2010!

Since 2006, BVU has hosted Do Something!, an educational event for community members interested in learning about a local issue and ways they can get involved as volunteers.

This year, we are partnering with WYPR to discuss issues raised by their riveting Growing Up Baltimore series and giving participants an opportunity to connect with local nonprofits working to address them.  At each event participants will hear from Baltimore leaders and residents about the challenges facing our community, paying special attention to issues affecting our city’s youth including educational needs, community safety, and social services.

The first event of our series will focus on the experience of growing up in Baltimore through the eyes of a local youth and programs that are providing safe, positive environments in which our young people are thriving.

This event is perfect opportunity for community members to meet like-minded individuals who are passionate about improving our neighborhoods through volunteerism and advocacy.

Light hors d'oeuvres and cocktails will be provided. All proceeds support BVU, Greater Baltimore's center for volunteerism.
